Metal Stamping, Pressing & CNC Turning Parts
Stamped and machined hardware is made to drawing, not to a catalogue. Tooling cost is the main decision: single-hit dies are cheap and slow, progressive dies cost more but cut unit price sharply above roughly 50,000 pcs. Send a STEP or DXF file with tolerance, material, thickness, coating and annual volume to get a comparable quote from several belts.

Shenzhen / Dongguan (Guangdong) for precision progressive-die stamping and CNC turning; Suzhou / Kunshan (Jiangsu) for sheet-metal and automation parts; Yuyao (Zhejiang) for small consumer-metal parts

Specification reference
| Attribute | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Press tonnage | 25 t to 300 t (progressive lines typically 60–200 t) |
| Min feature | Hole ≥ sheet thickness; bend radius from 0.5 t depending on grade |
| Tolerance | ISO 2768-m/f; precision dies hold ±0.02–0.05 mm |
| CNC turning | Ø0.5–Ø60 mm, Swiss-type for ≤ Ø12 mm long-thin parts |
| Tool life | Cr12MoV / SKD11 die steel, 300k–1M strokes before regrind |
| Inspection | First-article report, CMM / optical measurement, salt spray per coating |
| Coating | In-house plating for zinc/nickel; powder coat usually outsourced |

Questions buyers ask
Why do two Chinese factories quote my stamped part 40% apart?
Because the quotes usually cover different things: die steel grade and expected tool life, press tonnage and stroke rate, whether plating is in-house or outsourced, tolerance class actually held, and whether the quoted unit price amortises the die. Normalise the PO around these five items and the spread narrows.
What files should I send to get a stamping quote?
A 3D STEP plus a 2D DXF with critical dimensions toleranced, material grade and thickness, coating spec, hole/bend notes, and estimated monthly and annual volumes. Without annual volume a factory will quote a small-die solution and a high unit price.
