Lifting & Rigging (Shackles, Hooks, Slings, Turnbuckles, Winches)

Lifting hardware is safety-rated goods, so WLL marking, proof load and the forging grade matter more than appearance. Grade 80 alloy chain and G80 hooks are quench-tempered and proof-tested; cheaper Grade 24/48 links cannot be upgraded by changing the paint. Ask for the proof-load certificate per batch and the WLL stamped on the part itself.

Questions buyers ask

What documents should lifting goods ship with?

At minimum: the proof-load test record per batch, the material/ forging grade declaration, WLL and grade stamped on the product, and a CE/DoC if the goods are placed on the EU market. Receiving inspection should verify the stamp matches the paperwork, not only the weight.

Is Grade 80 chain worth the premium over Grade 70?

G80 is alloy and quench-tempered, allowing a smaller link diameter for the same working load, which cuts weight and lifting-equipment cost; G70 is transport chain rated only for lashing, not for lifting personnel or loads through a hoist. Do not substitute by size alone.
